Breeding the beautiful Arabian horse

Ashton Park Arabians is a small stud farm situated 30 minutes from Mudgee NSW founded in 2003. I aim to produce horses with quality, type, movement and versatility. Orionette (imp UK) has a huge influence in the breeding program. Amongst her progeny are champions, however it is her grand get that have gone on to become World Endurance Champions and Australian Champions in hand and under saddle. The Orionette family epitomizes the versatility of the Arabian breed.

If you ask me do dreams come true? You would be met with a resounding "yes". My dream was that one day every single Arabian in the stud would possess Orionette (imp UK) in there tail female line. Something I had been working towards since the purchase of my foundation mare Fairview Shibette in 2004.

The purchase of Coolinda Park Aflikka in 2009 and Coolinda Park Aflight and Coolinda Park Arizona in 2010 bought the dream within reach. There was just one piece of the puzzle missing, that piece fell into place with the lease of Up In Flames (Amir El Shaklan x Coolinda Park Aflame) in 2009 and with that my dream became a reality.

This year the decision to purchase Up In Flames was made, tragically he was euthanized due to a paddock accident at the same time. One of my philosophies has always been to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get on with it.....

2011 will see a change of direction within the stud with the lease of Simeon Sur.

I would like to thank Michael Etheridge from Pagewood Arabians for making my dream a reality. I would also like to thank Kim Cox from Caramea Stud for leasing Simeon Sur to me. I will be eternally thankful to both of you.

Most importantly I would like to thank Carole Hore from Coolinda Park Arabians for her friendship, her guidance, her never ending support and continuing help. Without Carole my dream would have been just that.....a dream, words can never express my gratitude.
